Lex Veldhuis has officially joined GGPoker as its newest brand ambassador, according to a press release issued Tuesday. The announcement ends months of speculation about where the famed streamer would land after his surprise exit from PokerStars in January, following a 15-year partnership.
Veldhuis, who boasts around 330,000 Twitch subscribers, is widely regarded as the most influential livestreamer in poker history. He now joins a roster of GGPoker ambassadors led by Daniel Negreanu, who has represented the site since becoming a free agent in 2019.
Negreanu welcomed his former PokerStars colleague, praising Veldhuis’s work ethic and ability to engage with fans as qualities that make him an ideal fit for the GGTeam.
Although Veldhuis largely stepped away from streaming for most of 2025, he has since returned to the virtual felt, grinding multi-table tournaments on GGPoker. He has also built a reputation in live poker, amassing more than $700,000 in tournament cashes and appearing on high-profile televised cash game shows like High Stakes Poker and the PokerStars Big Game.
In his statement, Veldhuis explained that exclusively playing on GGPoker over the past year reignited his enthusiasm for the game, citing the platform’s software and large tournament fields as key factors in his decision.
As GGPoker’s new Global Streaming Ambassador, Veldhuis is expected to bring his substantial online following to the platform, further strengthening its position in the competitive online poker market.
