The 2026 PokerNews Online Championship on 888 is heading toward its climax, with the $250,000 guaranteed Mystery Main Event set to crown a champion on October 27. The $250 buy-in tournament has been running flights throughout the week, and only seven Day 1s remain on the schedule.
So far, 466 players have entered the event either through direct buy-ins or satellite wins. Of those, just 54 have advanced to Day 2, where they will compete for a share of the prize pool and a chance at a $25,000 mystery bounty.
Leading the counts heading into Day 2 is “milikie11,” the only player with more than 200,000 chips after turning a 10,000 starting stack into 202,465. Hungarian pro Peter “kiskutya23” Traply sits in sixth place with 159,477 chips.
Just behind Traply is 888 ambassador Aaron “abrone68” Barone, fresh off winning the opening event of this year’s PokerNews Online Championship. His strong Day 1 result puts him in contention for another big cash.
Alongside the Main Event, 888 is also running the $25 buy-in Mystery Mini Main, which guarantees a $50,000 prize pool. With 665 entries and 80 players through to Day 2 so far, six flights remain, and 2,222 total entries are needed to hit the guarantee. Germany’s “Xiaoleidui” leads that field with 251,781 chips, followed by “HammHammm” and “LiHao,” both above 200,000.
Sixteen PokerNews Online Championship events have already crowned winners, with three more DeepStack tournaments scheduled for October 22, featuring buy-ins of $8.80, $109, and $320.
