The 2026 Grosvenor UK Poker Tour’s penultimate stop in Leeds has concluded, with British player Cush Berlyn emerging as the standout story of the festival. Berlyn captured the Main Event title after a thrilling final table, earning £43,490 following a three-way deal struck with Niall Duffy and James Shaw.

Berlyn began the final day sitting eighth out of nine remaining players and was priced at 12/1 by the Grosvenor Leeds sportsbook. Despite the modest odds, Berlyn fought back through the field to claim the title, marking the biggest cash of a career, according to The Hendon Mob.

Among those eliminated on the way to victory was Renee Xie, fresh off her recent GUKPT Luton Main Event win, who finished in ninth place. The result extended Xie’s remarkable tournament résumé to 25 GUKPT Main Event cashes, pushing her into fourth place on Grosvenor’s all-time money list.

After the deal was made among the final three, Berlyn built a 2:1 chip lead over Duffy by eliminating Shaw in third place, then went on to defeat Duffy heads-up to secure the trophy.

Elsewhere at the festival, Chris Balmforth won the High Roller event, the festival’s largest buy-in tournament, for £31,060. Balmforth also won a GUKPT Main Event seat through a GGPoker Golden Draw and used it to bag 86 big blinds heading into Day 2. His High Roller final table included notable names such as David Docherty and Brandon Sheils.

In a lighter moment, PokerNews’ own Liam Rose-Black won the Closer event for £3,360, his second career tournament title following a win at the EPT Barcelona media event last month.
